“2012: A Reminiscence” reflects on the theme of club culture and the sudden silence that has surrounded nightlife since the beginning of 2020. The video consists of archive footage recorded during a night in 2012 and offers perspectives on the suspension of the collective ritual of clubbing. It looks back at a time when nobody would have ever questioned the existence of this context in the present or future.
“2012: A Reminiscence” was produced on the occasion of the exhibition “After Club. And in the meantime the world has changed”, curated by Giulia Bini, at COLLI (Rome, 2021).
